Let's write in Italian

Hi everybody!

I came back with and interesting challenge for you:
I would like that you'd write something in Italian, and
I explain what in a moment!

If you want to start speaking, reading and understanding Italian,
you have to start to use this language.

I have a good news for you: I'll start soon a YouTube channel
to help you to improve your Italian, so stay tuned because
it will be great!

In the meantime, I would like that this blog would become a place
where people would interact writing comments or questions, so I can help you
to improve this language, and, most important, we can become a great group!

- What did you do, during the Summer time?

Let's talk about vacation. 

I want that you write in English and then in Italian, so I can correct you!

You can write also just a sentence! :-)


I start:

During this Summer I worked a lot: I had lot of students and I really enjoyed to
teach them. At the end of August I went to the sea, just 1 week, to relax and have
some fun with my family!

Durante l'estate ho lavorato molto: ho avuto molti studenti e mi è piaciuto insegnare
loro. Alla fine di Agosto sono andata al mare, solo 1 settimana, per rilassarmi
e passare il tempo divertendomi con la mia famiglia!

Ferragosto feast day

Ferragosto is an Italian and holiday celebrated on 15 August, coinciding with the major Catholic feast of the Assumption of Mary.  It is also the summer vacation period around mid-August, which may be a long weekend (ponte di ferragosto) or most of August.
During this period Italian people travel to the mountains or to the sea to make 1 week of vacation and enjoy the summer with the families. 


Ferragosto è una festività italiana celebrata il 15 di Agosto, che coincide con la grande festa dell'assunzione di Maria. E' anche la vacanza estica nel periodo di metà Agosto, che è il più lungo weekend (ponte di ferragosti) di Agosto.
Durante questo periodo gli italiani viaggiano verso le montagne o il mare per fare 1 settimana di vacanza e godersi l'estate con le loro famiglie.

A new, amazing Italian Course!

Italian Summer

Italy is a Country teeming with beaches and beautiful places to visit.
L'Italia è un paese pieno di spiagge e bellissimi posti da visitare.

During the Summer time people go to the sea or to the mountains.
We can go wherever we want to go!
Durante l'estate la gente va al mare o in montagna. 
Noi possiamo andare dove vogliamo!

The cities, the beaches and the mountains, in summer, are full of tourists!
There are lots of American, German, English and French people.
Le città, le spiagge e le montagne, in estate, sono piene di turisti!
Ci sono molti americani, tedeschi, inglesi e francesi. 

I love regions like Sardegna, Toscana and Puglia for the beautiful seas and for the history
and lots of museums.
Io amo le regioni come al Saredegna, Toscana e Puglia per i bellissimi mari e perchè
c'è molta storia e molti musei. 

I went, years ago, in Sardegna with some friends, and I could swimming into
a clear, clean, marvellous sea!
Sono andata, anni fa, in Sardegna, con alcuni amici, e ho nuotato in un mare
chiaro, pulito e meraviglioso!

Verona: a beautiful city!

Verona is a city on the Adige river in Veneto, Italy, with approximately 265,000 inhabitants and one of the seven provincial capitals of the region. It is the second largest city municipality in the region and the third largest in northest Italy.

It is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy, owing to its artistic heritage, several annual fairs, shows, and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena, the ancient amphitheater built by the Romans.

Cangrande I Della Scala, Lord of Verona, was great as warrior, prince, and patron of the arts; he protected Dante, Petrarch, and Giotto.
Dante dedicated a part in the Divina Commedia, in the "Paradise",  to Cangrande Della Scala.

Cinderella/ Cenerentola

In a far away, long ago kingdom, Cinderella is living happily with her mother and father until her mother dies. Cinderella's father remarries a cold, cruel woman who has two daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. When the father dies, Cinderella's wicked stepmother turns her into a virtual servant in her own house. Meanwhile, across town in the castle, the King determines that his son the Prince should find a suitable bride and provide him with a required number of grandchildren. So the King invites every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball, where his son will be able to choose his bride. Cinderella has no suitable party dress for a ball, but her friends the mice, led by Jaques and Gus, and the birds lend a hand in making her one, a dress the evil stepsisters immediately tear apart on the evening of the ball. At this point, enter the Fairy Godmother, the pumpkin carriage, the royal ball, the stroke of midnight, the glass slipper, and the rest, as they say, is fairy tale history.


In un regno lontano, molto tempo fa, Cenerentola viveva felicemente con sua madre e suo padre fino a che sua madre morì. Il padre di Cenerentola si risposò con una fredda, crudele donna che aveva due figlie: Drizella e Anastasia.
Quando suo padre morì, la perfida matrigna la fece diventare una serva in casa sua.
Nel frattempo, nel castello della città, il Re voleva che suo figlio, il Principe, trovasse una sposa e gli desse molti nipoti.
Così il Re invitò ogni ragazza nubile nel Regno per un ballo in abito elegante, nel quale suo figlio avrebbe scelto la sua sposa.
Cenerentola non aveva abiti adatti per la festa di ballo, ma i suo amici topi, capeggiati da Jaques e Gus, e gli uccelli, le diedero una mano nel farne uno, un vestito che le sorellastre cattive immediatamente fecero a pezzi la sera del ballo. A quel punto, arrivò la Fata Giusta, con la carrozza di zucca, il ballo reale, la fuga di mezzanotte, la scarpetta di vetro, e il resto, come si dice, è una bella storia a lieto fine.

Italian through stories

To learn a language we need to find a simple, interesting, funny or creative method..

I think that telling the stories is a powerful way to improve learning,
not just for children, but even for adults.

Our mind will do more connections and we can remember entire sentences,
useful also to travel in Italy.

So I decided: this blog will be full of funny, interesting, creative and simple stories.

Stories about fantasy, reality, travels, history and daily life.

My big goal, as Teacher, is to teach this beautiful language, with a fantastic sound
to everyone who wants to learn it or improve not in a "scholastic way", but in a 
different and more interesting way. 

Follow the stories, read them, search on on line dictionary the words
that you don't know and you'll see  your comprehension will improve little by little.

Republic Celebration day

Today in Italy is the celebration day of  the Republic.

At the end of the 2nd War World, in 1945, Italy was a Country destroyed and divided.

After 1 year the Country was called to vote with a Referendum to choose between Monarchy or Republic.

On the 2nd June 1946, Italian people chose the Republic!

The Celebrations are in Rome and there is the military procession and the "tre colours arrows", so called the military jet that "paint" the sky with the flag italian colours!

It's a beautiful show!

Actually the vote divided Italy, because the North chose for the Republic, instead the South chose for the Monarchy. For the majority vote, the Republic won!

 

Fortunately the freedom was chosen!

 

How to learn Italian

What do you need to learn a language?

1- Listen the exact sound of words
2- Repeat the exact phonetic
3- Exercise
4- Communicate

To learn a language is important to use a good method that could keep you to the
high level!

I studied, as Italian's teacher, an interesting method to help people to learn
this beautiful language!

To become fluent in Italian you have to practice:

you can choose the right path and then drill every day, almost 1 hour per day!

Then, you can looking for an Italian Native Speaker to make sure that your
pronunciation is correct and fluent.

You can use Internet, also: watch movies, listen to the radio on podcast or streaming, you can listen a song and sing it!
In that way your Italian could improve a lot.

If you don't have the chance to travel and to come here in Italy, is very good to use Skype: is fast, is easy and is very useful!

I do a lot of lessons by Skype and I want to do also funny lessons.
The Italian grammar is important, but we can study without boredom!

Also reading is a clever way!

You have to find your way to learn Italian and I guarantee that your Italian will improve and become
better!
